Autobiography, April 15, 1936.

The accession consists of a 94 page typescript, entitled: One American: an autobiography dedicated to my beloved children Spencer, Barbara and Rey by Percy Spencer Barnhart, Scripps Institution of Oceanography, La Jolla, CA, April 15, 1936. The autobiography describes Barnhart's life, especially his military service during the Spanish American War. There is a small section concerning his life and work at the Scripps Institution of Oceanography. The accession also includes two photographs--one of James Ross and one of Grahan Marks dated 1933. These photographs were received by Mrs. Strickland from her father. They have been integrated into the SIO portrait file.
